  • Who will be cleaning my home?
    A team of professional housecleaners, trained and employed by The Bakken Cleaners, will clean your home. All of our employees are fully insured and bonded. They will not eat, drink, smoke, or operate any appliances while inside your home.
  • Do I need to provide house cleaning supplies?
    We provide all cleaning equipment and products. If you have a special cleaning product that you would like for us to use, please be sure to discuss this with us in advance, so that we can properly instruct our team.
  • How much will it cost to clean my home?
    When determining your home cleaning cost we recognize that every home is as unique as the homeowner. We base your exact price on many factors including pets, clutter, floor types, as well as, the number of people who live there.   • Will it cost the same each time you come to my house?
    The cleaning system starts with two initial cleans. The initial cleans get your house detail clean by cleaning areas other companies often neglect. Because these two cleans take additional time we typically charge an additional fee. After your initial cleans, the price will not vary between visits.
  • Will you come on the same day and time for each clean?
    While we can commit to a specific day, there are many factors throughout the day that may affect our actual arrival time. If you desire an estimated time of arrival on the day of your clean, please call us, and we’ll be glad to oblige.
  • Do I need to be home during the cleaning?
    Absolutely not. In fact, most of our customers prefer not to be home when we clean!
  • What should I do with my pets during the cleaning?
    If you have pets, we ask that you prevent them from entering the areas that we clean. For sanitary and safety reasons, our teams of residential cleaning professionals are not permitted to clean flea infested homes or pick up animal excrement.
  • How do I pay for my home cleaning?
    Payment is due the day of each scheduled clean. Most of our customers simply leave a check on the kitchen counter or pay by major credit card. Please contact us for details.

  • What is mildew and how can I get rid of it?
    Mildew is a type of fungus that can be found growing on a multitude of surfaces where moisture and temperature levels are high. Mildew can typically be identified by its color (pinkish-orange to black). Most mildews are caused by an overgrowth of mold. Our professional housecleaners will be able to impede the growth of mildew by removing the built up food sources that it lives on, such as soap, skin, hair and etc. However, as long as humidity is present, mildew will grow in the area. To stop the growth of mildew, the area must be kept dry or in many cases, it must be chemically treated. Chlorine bleach is a good sanitizer to use on an infected area. To reduce the pungent odor of the bleach, dilute it up to 50% with water. The most practical application method would be to lightly spray the mildew affected area. It is not necessary to apply bleach to uninfected areas. Leave the bleach in contact with the surface area for at least an hour. Rinse any area that you will touch in later use. Repeat the application on a bi-weekly basis or when mildew reappears. While chlorine bleach is not a green chemical, it must be used in some severe cases when you or your family’s health is at risk. Because this product is not green, we do not carry it, but you can find it easily in your grocery store.
  • How much should I purchase for a gift certificate?
    If you are unsure of the appropriate gift amount, we encourage you to contact a local office for assistance in choosing the perfect gift. Once the gift certificate has been gifted, all the recipient needs to do is contact the local office and schedule service.
  • Will I always have the same people cleaning my home?
    We do our best to have the same professional house cleaners in your home every time we clean. However, sometimes due to vacations, illness, or cleans being rescheduled we will have to send a different cleaner or team instead. Our primary goal is to provide a consistent clean no matter who cleans your home.
  • How do you determine how much it will cost for me to have my house cleaned?
    We evaluate the size of your home, how many rooms will be cleaned, the condition of your home, and the frequency at which we’ll be coming to your home to clean. This information translates to an estimated time to clean using our cleaning system. While the actual time to clean will vary depending on the area on rotation, we assign one fixed price for your convenience. If there are rooms in your house you want cleaned less often than your normal cleaning schedule, we can add that room to be cleaned upon request. This room would not be included in your normal scheduled cleaning and you would only pay for it the times you ask us to clean it. Additionally, at your discretion rooms can be assigned not to be cleaned.
  • What happens if something breaks?
    Unfortunately, sometimes in the cleaning process items may be broken. If this occurs, the cleaning team will leave a note with the item to let you know. The office will work with you to find a suitable resolution.
  • How do you ensure the security of my home?
    Most customers provide a key or digital (garage) code to enter the home. Keys are assigned to a numbered tag without customer name or address. Keys are locked in a lock box and codes are kept private and only given to the house cleaners the day of the clean. Our employees are thoroughly screened before starting work with us. They also use technology to check in and out of each clean so we know the exact times they were in your home.
